Receiving syslog message :%SIP-3-UNSUPPORTED: Unsupported ptime value. But we have no SIP-related commands in our config. We reloaded router Friday eve 1/15 but two more %SIP-3-UNSUPPORTED: Unsupported ptime value messages re-appeared on 1/18. The router in question is a 3745 running c3745-a3jk9s-mz.123-14.t7.bin. This router does have one interface facing an ISP. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
SIP is enabled by default so if you don't need it, you can use the following command to stop this service:
sip-ua no transport udp no transport tcp no transport tcp tls
To check if SIP is enabled, you can use the following commands:
Router#show processes | include SIP 149 Mwe 40F48254 4 1 400023108/24000 0 CCSIP_UDP_SOCKET 150 Mwe 40F48034 4 1 400023388/24000 0 CCSIP_TCP_SOCKET
or
router#sh ip sockets Proto Remote Port Local Port In Out Stat TTY OutputIF 17 0.0.0.0 0 10.16.60.5 5060 0 0 211 0 17 10.1.57.53 514 10.16.60.5 58917 0 0 10 0 17 10.1.57.55 49 10.16.60.5 49 0 0 11 0 17 10.1.57.56 49 10.16.60.5 49 0 0 11 0 17 0.0.0.0 0 10.16.60.5 2517 0 0 1 0 17 10.1.74.49 1757 10.16.60.5 161 0 0 1 0

Hello All,
i have same issue, actually my router is on Edge, and is acting as pass through for VOIP / SIP calls from my asterisk server to Internet base VOIP provider.
soo if i disable this service on router, will it casue pass through to stop working as well? any thoughts?

I am having the same issue, but I am actually using CME as SIP, and that message is really annoying. Not to mention that when the customer sees it, he's gonna ask me what that is and I have no clue what to answer. I already looked it up, but all I can find is this post and things that don't explain about this error.
All I need to do is stop the message from showing. Any ideas?
