Hi, if I configure telnet on an "management-interface fastethernet interface", will this command take precedence over the existing vty command configured on the "line vty 0 4" level? Or will the device flag an error and ask the existing vty command to be removed first?

I would expect the control-plane to take precedence. You do not necessarily need to remove the line vty commands. They enable telnet and ssh access to the router. But the control-plane commands will limit the access.
