Hi,

I am trying to copy running copy file in to SFTP server which i am going to configure cron job letter on for schedule backup. But i am unable to copy to SFTP. Can someone help me with this.

Please find below error:-

SW_01#copy running-config scp://user@IP/Backup/Path
Address or name of remote host [IP]? IP
Destination username [user]? user
Destination filename [01-confg]? running-config
Writing running-config
Password:
%his service allows sftp connections only.

%Error writing scp://*@192.168.3.99/running-config (Permission denied)

I do have permission to access SFTP directory using same credentials.

"Permission denied" is the error message coming from the server. Is "write" allowed?

Hi

Did you previously create a file "running-config" on the server and give write access on it for your ssh user ?

If yes, something is maybe wrong in your sshd server config.
Your server seems modified to accept only sftp connection which differs from scp.
Per default, sftp works in sshd but it is not what you're trying to do using scp.

Regards,

You are right! Server allow only SFTP. I made the necessary changes from SFTP and tried with default user who has R&W access and it works! Thanks for help.
