Hello,
I am trying to implement Unknown Unicast Storm Control in IOS-XE but can't seem to find the configuration for it. I can have Multicast and Broadcast storm control configured but it seems like, there is no support for the Unknown Unicast Storm Control anymore. I am using
Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500es8-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 03.07.02.E RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Switch(config-if)#storm-control ?
action Action to take for storm-control
broadcast Broadcast address storm control
Switch(config-if)#storm-control broadcast ?
include include other traffic types
level Set storm suppression level on this interface
Switch(config-if)#storm-control broadcast include ?
multicast Suppress broadcast and multicast traffic
Has Unknown Unicast Storm Control feature taken off?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
On 4500 IOS does, it does not appear on XE to my knowledge.
As an alternative, have you considered blocking unicast floods on the interface?

Anthony

Thanks! We have some catalyst 3850s in our network running XE code and they do support blocking unknown unicasts. Catalyst 4510 on the other hand with Sup 8E does not have the feature.
Yes, I have looked into blocking unicast floods on the interface but it does not appear to be working as expected. Still investigating a workaround...

There is no support for unicast storm control on the sup6E (since you mentioned IOS XE).
You may want to look at implementing policing the packets as an alternate.
