Hello everyone,
Quick question, I just notice that the previous admin used the default vlans for on of our networks, I was taught that it's not recommended to use your default Vlan rather to create a Vlan and leave the default alone. Is this correct? Or is it ok to use the default Vlan.
Thanks,
Wolfy

you shouldnt really use VLAN1 as its used by things like CDP and therefore if it gets compromised, so do the hosts on it. Better to change the default VLAN to something else and not use VLAN 1 for any hosts/servers.

Thats what I thought myself I just wanted to confirm with others more experienced than myself. This is definitely an issue I will have to tackle since I do use CDP to see my neighbors and such. Thanks for your response

I agree, you should always create a management VLAN to use and stick with it for all switches on your network.
