Hi All
The SFP matrix says its supported but I see this in the log:
*Jan 2 00:10:17.312: %PHY-4-SFP_PLUS_NOT_SUPPORTED: The SFP PLUS in Te1/0/1 is not supported
*Jan 2 00:10:17.312: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Te1/0/1, putting Te1/0/1 in err-disable state
Im running the following IOS:

is this a Cisco brand or third party?
you can try an show inventory or show interface status to see how the SFP is detected,
and you can try the commands from
Unsupported GBIC (SFP) in sub-module of Catalyst 3850 Switch – Mitigation Techniques
that possibly also work for 2960s
- no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid
- service unsupported-transceiver
