Hi Cisco Buddies

I wanna share a scenario, I take backup of my production switch 3750-X and copy startup-config and valn.dat from the production/core switch and then upload these files to my backup switch

The issue is startup-configs was completely replicate but in vlan.dat not given all configs that were on core switch 3750-X, some vlans was there with the right ports associated with them but some trunk ports were showing still in vlan 1 in Sh vlan.

What can be the issue? Any idea guys.

Your response will be highly appreciated!

Best Regards

Hi,

Please check are the VLANs in administrator down status?

Hi Deepak

Thanks for your reply.

Another issue was found as it was my backup switch and all kind of configs was there but as no port was put in the switch yet so by default the configured trunks port was shown in VLAN 1, but as soon as we plug the port in the switch, the ports were removed from VLAN 1 and then shown in trunking info.

Best Regards

Hi Khizersaleem,

This is expected behavior, the trunk will be shown when the interface will come up.

Hi,

This looks as like as default behavior. If you want to make active any VLAN without putting cable to the interface then "State Active" command may useful for you.

VLAN 2

state active
