I would like to know what is the maximum temperature that a module can work without having any problem?

I looked on the internet for a document where I had this information, but I didn't find anything, if anyone can share, I'd appreciate it.

Switch model: WS-C6509-E
Supervisor Model VS-SUP2T-10G

switch 2 module 5:
switch 2 module 5 power-output-fail: OK
switch 2 module 5 outlet temperature: 40C
switch 2 module 5 inlet temperature: 26C
switch 2 module 5 device-1 temperature: 34C
switch 2 module 5 device-2 temperature: 36C
switch 2 module 5 asic-1 temperature: 64C
switch 2 module 5 asic-2 temperature: 44C
switch 2 module 5 asic-3 temperature: 41C
switch 2 module 5 asic-4 temperature: 62C
switch 2 module 5 asic-5 temperature: 49C
switch 2 module 5 asic-7 temperature: 49C
switch 2 module 5 asic-8 temperature: 68C
switch 2 module 5 RP outlet temperature: 37C
switch 2 module 5 RP inlet temperature: 33C
switch 2 module 5 RP device-1 temperature: 48C
switch 2 module 5 EARL outlet temperature: 38C
switch 2 module 5 EARL inlet temperature: 27C
switch 2 module 5 EARL device-1 temperature: 72C
switch 2 module 5 EARL device-2 temperature: 72C

Temperature is reaching 72C

In that case then I should consider the (Storage temperature), right?

i would advise heat should one need consider to be low tempareture due that chips may go bad or malfunction

@Scott Hodgdon  provided depth document.

@RRFS578780 ,

The temperatures you listed are gathered from sensors on the modules themselves. Ambient operating temperature will play a part as blowing warmer air across the modules will result in less cooling and higher ASIC temperatures.

The document I provided outlines the minimum / maximum module temperature thresholds and the action the system takes when these thresholds are crossed. You absolutely want to stay within the operating and storage temperatures that others have posted.

If you want to monitor this actively, you could set up an EEM script to run a show command of this information every so often and then dump that information to a file on the flash that you can then export to a server somewhere.

@RRFS578780 ,

I have attached a document I wrote for the Cat 6K about environmentals. I do not recall if it was ever published externally, but I guess it is now . I hope this helps.
