Hello Pros.

I recently installed two Cisco 9200 C9200L-48PL-4X (Stack wise) and upgrade to IOS (17.12.05 CAT9K_LITE_IOSXE).  When I checked show version I found something that I never paid attention and don't know what is that mean and how to resolve.

Switch        Ports       Model     SW Version    SW Image        Mode
------ ----- ----- ---------- ---------- --------------------
* 1 52 C9200L-48PL-4X 17.12.05 CAT9K_LITE_IOSXE        INSTALL ????

Thanks.

@Zee-Far-Man hi, there is two modes - install and bundle. bundle mode is used from the beginning, and it worked as a pointing boot image one file while loading the device. so device will extract that to memory and start the OS. this is inefficient and became a resource eating when new OS getting more features.

install mode is like you install a software which set of files will be installed in the disk and when device starts, required files will be loaded to the system. this is more efficient and only required files will be loaded to the memory.

latest OS using install mode to be more efficient and faster.
