Recently I've had a string of WAN 'blips' that caused the phones to fall back to the gateway. Most of them re-register back to CallManager after the outage is fixed, but it seems as though a few get stuck on the gateway...i've watched the timer count down and it just restarts the countdown. The 9971 and 8961 phones, though, go right back with no issue...
Has anyone come across this before?

No, I have not come across any situation like that.
Just wondering how long it remains stuck on the SRST Mode after the WAN link is restored?
If it is stuck for a prolonged period (more than 15 - 20 mins) then I would want to upgrade the firmware and see if that makes any difference.

What firmware version does the two phones have?

Hi,
the firmware version is "sip 78xx.10.2.1.12sr1-4"

That is the latest firmware I used for our customers as well. No issues reported similar to what you are experiencing.
I'd suggest you do take packet capture on the phone side (phone that is having the issue) when re-producing the problem.
