If I remember it correct the last official statement for the C20/SX20 I heard was:

* no other mics then the original square ones

* no extensions (SX20 also regards the camera)

We can use extension for mics for C20. Its even listed in parts and components guide:

CTS-QSC20-MIC=

Performance Mic 20 - 7.5m cable attached

CAB-MIC20-EXT=

Extension Cable 10m, for CTS-QSC20-MIC, 3.5mm F to 3.5mm M

So we can safely say that you can use microphone with 2 extension = 37,5 meters, just over 90 ft.
