Cisco Meeting Server (Acano) recording not working

Hello,

I'm running a single server deployment lab on VMware. Everything is running fine, but recording.

I have done the following:
1) Generated and issued internal CA certificates
2) Configured recorder by CLI with certificates, listen to unbind port 8443
3) Configured by API the recorder URL https://127.0.0.1:8443
4) Created callLegProfiles and callProfile for allowing manual recording
5) Created dmtfProfile with startRecording and stopRecording patterns
6) Set up those profiles as default system profiles

I got the following error message in Status > General:
Recorder "https://127.0.0.1:8443" unavailable (connect failure)

By running openssl s_client -connect I do confirm port 8443 is closed. So I'm assuming recorder is not up. I have already tried versions 2.0.9, 2.1.2 and 2.1.3 without success.

Am I missing something? Has anyone been able to put it working?

The license command output is:

acano> license
Feature: callbridge status: Activated expiry: 2117-Feb-13 (36511 days remain)
Feature: turn status: Activated expiry: 2117-Feb-13 (36511 days remain)
Feature: webbridge status: Activated expiry: 2117-Feb-13 (36511 days remain)
Feature: recording status: Activated expiry: 2117-Feb-13 (36511 days remain)

Yes, to fix it we had to add xmpp-client and xmpp-server commands to the recorder for the SRV record.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info. So is it necessary to configure xmpp in the recorder server? or just the srv?

No Problem.  Just the SRV.  XMPP should be configured on your Call Bridge Server.

it worked! thanks again.

Hi Jake,

Exactly the same problem with .temp file and recording icon never changes to the option to Stop Recording.

Do you know what should I do in this case?

Hello.

What exactly do you configure to solve this problem?

Thank you.

i cannot even create API. is it because of selfsigned certificate. im trying with self signed certificate.

Hello Eduardo,

Which Certificat are you set on the trusted store?

I have the same problème but with a dedicated VM for the recording.

Thanks

I had the same issue with you.

Yesterday I deployed another recorder in another CMS, it worked.(higher spec server)

But I have another new issue, once I click start recording, the server creates a new call, but be destroyed right away.

I solved it !!

It's the issue of CA.

Hello,

I deployed a combined single server. The callbridge and recorder roles are the same server.

Can I use the same callbridge cert to Recorder?

Should fill the callbridge cert on Trust Bundle of Recorder?

acan01> callbridge
Listening interfaces : a
Preferred interface : none
Key file : callbridge1.key
Certificate file : callbridge1.crt
Address : none
elabacan01> recorder

Interface whitelist : lo:8443 a:8443
Key file : callbridge1.key
Certificate file : callbridge1.crt
Trust bundle : callbridge1.crt
NFS domain name : 192.168.XX.XX
NFS directory : /root/Share/Record
acan01>

Setup look like good ... when the space record ...

unable to start recording -- no available recording devices

Any idea?

the problem is that no recording happened. it writes only temp files in nfs folder.

is it true I am using      Trust bundle : recorder.crt    ?

I have deployed CMS recording ( License recording) and CMS Core ( License callbridge, webbridge, Turn server) on 2 different server. I have used CMS version 2.3.1. About, recording using method manual, press **1 to start recording. CMS recording has mounted NFS successfull.

But currently, I cannot recording, when I press dtmf **1, the error show such as:

Mar  6 15:29:39 user.info CMS host:server:  INFO : call 61: unable to start recording (call 1ca79a0b-eb2b-49e6-aaf6-71418c6152ef) -- recording limit reached

I cannot find the root cause,

Please advise me to reslove it!

From you descriptions it appears you've installed the recording licenses (CMS-RECORDING) to the server running the Recorder?

Recording licenses are installed on the same server as the Call Bridge, not the Recorder, from the deployment guides:

The license is applied to the server hosting the Call Bridge (core server) which connects to the Recorder, not the server hosting the Recorder.

According to information from you, I understand that License recording will be actived on CMS Core ( CMS host callbridge) and on CMS recording will not need actived any license, right?
