Codec Issue

Hello Everyone,

The power LED of  Cisco CTS-Codec-PRI-G2R is showing off. Whereas we are getting the working sound from this codec. And sound is getting off while disconnecting the power cord. The power cord is also tested with another codec and it is working fine. Other 3 codec are working fine.

Due to this issue , our TP is showing not registered in CUCM.

Please provide any suggestion on this.

The power LED being off is clearly a hardware problem (even though it sounds like it's somewhat functional). I'd recommend opening a ticket with TAC, it's likely this will need to be replaced.

Those CTS TX9ks have two codecs in them, so, while one isn't working, the other things you're experiencing working would be going through the other one.

You will need to replace the one that doesn't work.  See Replacing a Codec—Part Number CTS-CODEC-PRI-G2R= or CTS-CODEC-PRI-RCH= (PRC)
