Customer is Having Tandberg Edge 95 MXP & Tandberg Edge 75 MXP Telepresence we have enabled dual display mode in both the devices and the devices are connect to Sony Bravia KDL-55HX750 IN5 HD television. The main monitor is connected to the DVI Out  at the back of the unit and the secondary monitor is connected to the Composite Video (1.Dual) output on the unit. The Problem is when we see the presentation on the second screen the readability of texts in presentations worsens clear.

Awainting for the comments.

Hi Piyush,

Please provide more information to understand this issue,

Is this issue occurs during the video call ?  it is point to point or multi site call ? If multi site then any external

MCU involved ?
Is it happens with any specific call bandwidth or on all bandwidth ?
Change presentation rate : control panel ->presentation setting -> presentation rate ( try with
50%, 25% , default is 75%)

Dear Amit,

The issue occurs issue during a call or even while sharing the presentation locally.

No devices are not connected through MCU.

I have tried with changing the presentation rate as well but still the result is same.

Software version is as below :

EDGE 95 - Version: "F9.1.2 PAL”

EDGE 75 – Version: "F9.1.2 PAL"

The problem will get highlighted when customer will check the Microsoft Excel file in the presentation the words and the digits are not clear in on the second screen.

Hi Piyush,

Apart from what Amit has mentioned, I would like to clarify on a couple of things :

What presentation is this ? Is this local presentation or the presentation which ie shared from the far end ? If the presentation is local then what is the quality set for the presentation on your codec?

If the presentation is the one shared from the far end, then what is the quality set on the Input source on the far end for Presentation. It is possible that this is due to th equality and resolutions set on the input source.

Try Setting the source quality to Sharpness. For example, if you're Input Source for presentation is 3, then make sure this is set on the codec  :

xConfiguration Video Inputs Source 3 Quality: Sharpness

Share the results of these operations.

Hi Piyush,

If you're seeing that even without the call, then it is not a bandwidth issue.

On your second monitor, I can see that you're using a Composite connection to connect to the video. Can you try and use any other connection ?

The issue might be due to composite connection.

Far-end needs to be on the monitor using S-video, near-end has to be on the monitor using DVI as this is the monitor where any presentations will be shown when in a call.

Out of call, using self-view, and with a presentation running, you should see the presentation on both monitors; one will be nice and clear, the other fuzzy.

H.239 must be enabled and presentation sent as the dual stream, not the main stream, in order to receive it correctly on the DVI monitor.

If it's received as main video then you'll see the presentation instead of the people at the far-end on the S-video monitor, and near-end on the DVI monitor, and S-video signal will be severely degraded - this is normal - it is after all "only" an analouge video signal, and S-video is only a tad better than composite video, but not good enough for computer presentations.

Oh, by the way; do you have NPP option installed on both systems? (Can't remember if these units were delivered with NPP pre-installed or not).

If you haven't, then nothing will work properly presentation wise until you install that option key.

Dear Jens,

It is possible that when sombody call form other EDGE Device we can see his presentation on DVI monitor as we can get the clear view and the video of other Composite video Monitor.

PIYUSH

If the other site has the NPP option installed and is sending both video and presentation (h.239), then your system should be configured with "VGA Out Mode" as "Dual" and you should use the "single" composite output from the codec to the "video monitor".That should give you menus and far-end on "composite video" monitor and near-end and presentation, when sent, on the DVI monitor. That's how we configure all our MXPs, and it works for us.:)

To be honest, in my opinion you better skip to use the edge or 3000mxp systems with dual screens.

The (s)video out will never deliver a good quality by today's standards.

Not sure when these systems were bought, but you will have more fun with the up to date

entry evel systems like the sx20.
