Hi All,

Anyone out there running Expressway X14 with CUCM 11.5  for MRA without issue?

The official "recommended" version for CUCM 11.5 is X12.6 ...but there's a new Sev9 vulnerability affecting Expressway and the current fix is only available in X14.0.5

The word recommended is very grey...........

THanks

Hi there,

Yes that's exactly where I'm getting my information from - but if you note it says a minimum version X8.9 and then a "recommended" version of X12.6 . It doesn't say this is the highest supported version or anything thus my post out to the wider group as recommended is very different that supported in my opinion

TIA

hi there

Recommended basically refers Cisco did research and testing on that versions. I am sure you should be able to run, however, if you break fix with Cisco TAC, then the CSR matix will be bible for that

But, recommendation is a strong word when it comes to production world.

Hope this Helps

Cheers
Rath!

So had some feedback from Cisco on this - Expressway 14 is backwards compatible with CUCM 11.5 and above. The only caveat is that any new functionality introduced in Expressway 14 will not work as it has some dependencies on CUCM 12.5 or 14.

Its possible the CSR Matrix will be updated with the information shortly......but nothing guaranteed

So bottom line is that if you are on CUCM 11.5/12.X and you upgrade to Expressway 14.X everything will continue to work as it is and going to 14 is the only way to mitigate the "cisco-sa-expressway-filewrite-87Q5YRk" vulnerability as there will be no fix for X12 or lower

We’re not on CM 11.5 anymore, but on 12.5 for production services and 14 for pre-production system, so not straight up applicable for you. However with this we use X14.0.4 or X14.0.5, even if the matrix says X12.7.1 for 12.5. We’re been on X14 since it came out because of the improvement for on-prem call service login UX for Webex and it has worked overall with no issues.
