hi guys,
I would like some help please. I installed TMS (Version 15.5.0) without rlease key or anything (virtual server). I that I purchased that product, I would like to obtain the license from cisco but they need the serial # of the TMS. usually it is shown in the bottom right corner of the web portal of TMS. It is now showing S/N:TRIAL (HOSTNAME) because of the demo version I installed. how do I obtain the the SN.?
thanks a lot

I agree with Patrick[+5]
We did the installation and shared the PAK codes with Cisco licensing Team along with TMS version purchased.
The serial number mapping was done by them with Contract number and SO. The same was reflecting on Cisco Site later on for Part Code LIC-TMS-APL-S80100
We installed the Release key provided by licensing team and Trial license changed to Serial Number.

Vijay,
When you purchase a TMS license from Cisco, you will get the serial number from them.
Thanks,
Justin

hi Justin,
thanks for the quick response. we did receive something like that. this TMS license is a demo version license we received directly from sales managers. ( because we are building a lab). anyways the point is when they gave us, we asked them to make the serial# as the hostname of the TMS. when during installation of the release key it says invalid.

TMS running in demo mode doesn't contain a serial number, serial numbers are assigned when you purchase TMS and are sent a PAK which contains a release key. Once the release key is applied, TRIAL will change to the serial number assigned by Cisco.
It sounds as if the reseller believes you already purchased TMS, hence they are asking for the serial number, but you need to go through the process of a new purchase as if you do not have TMS.

Nice find with the document Aman (5+), I tried to find a similar document, but didn't at the time I posted my reply. It explains the process exactly, especially the part where TRIAL will be converted to serial number.
