IP cameras connected to codec pro

Hi,

Our AV vendor installed a Cisco codec pro and two Panasonic AW-HE145 cameras. The cameras are connected to the PoE ports of the codec pro, the touch 10 panel is connected to the second LAN port (counted from the left, which is a camera control port) and the main network connection is connected to the first LAN port.  Will this work?

Can the camera control and picture be transmitted/received via the PoE ports of the codec ?? The touch panel received an IP adress in the same range as the IP address of the codec.

So the camera HDMI inputs are not used.

No, this won’t work. Cisco has not enabled Video over IP on any of the codecs yet.

As for control, only Cisco’s cameras and a handful of Sony models work with the native camera controls. It’s not uncommon for AV integrators to use other cameras but they have to build their own camera control panel on the touch panel using the UI extensions and an external control processor.
