Hi there,
I want to make a demo with one MX300 G2 and MX200 G2 for a customer.
I want to use both endpoints in a standalone mode, the customer doesn't have any vcs or cucm. ( Point to point call);
I read in the following thread that i must use H323 to be able to make calls directly:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12340271/cisco-mx300-tcs-standalone
Here are the settings for both devices:
-------------
IP address: 192.168.1.229
mask : /24
default GW: 192.168.1.250
h323 mode: Direct
H323 Alias E164 : 2003
H323 Alias ID: youssef.aoufi@company.com
Default call protocol: H323
-------------
IP address: 192.168.1.230
mask : /24
default GW: 192.168.1.250
h323 mode: Direct
H323 Alias E164 : 2004
H323 Alias ID: user.test@company.com
Default call protocol: H323
The main problem is that i don't know how to dial :
if i dial 2004 from the MX300 i receive the following message: cannot connect call
If i dial: user.test@company.com from the MX300 i receive the following message: cannot connect call
If i dial: 192.168.1.230 from the MX300 i receive the following message: cannot connect call
If i dial: 2004@192.168.1.230 from the MX300 i receive the following message: could not place call to sip:2004@192.168.1.230.
I think i am missing something.
Thank you in advance for your help

Hi Youssef/All,
I am new to the VOIP world and in a similar situation doing a demo for a client. I was referring to your post for the details and its been a lot helpful for me.
One question, might sound silly but can I connect the systems directly using a lan cable end to end between a MX300 and a MX800 or does it need to go through a switch? I have limited resources to do the testing so your valuable suggestions would be much helpful.
Regards
Alok
