Hi Experts,
We have a project consisting of AV systems with control system using Crestron and videoconference system using SX80 codec. The plan is all controls will be done using the Crestron with its touch panel for centralized control system. Audio/video switching, lighting control, and videoconference control will be on Crestron so need for the Touch 10. It will just confused the users if there are lot of controls on the conference table so we will take out the Touch 10.
Can be the SX80 operated using the Crestron (dialing/answering call/volume controls/layout control etc..) and works without connecting the Touch 10 to the codec?

You can use the SX80 without a Touch 10 and use a Crestron touch panel instead. Refer to the SX80 API Guides or existing SX80 Crestron Programs to control and use the codec. You'll want to make sure you set the number of touch panels that the SX80 should use to zero (0), otherwise the SX80 will show a "Touch Panel Required" warning on the display, see the TC Release Notes on pg 29.

Yes, just use the API relevant to the software version your system is running; http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/collaboration-endpoints/telepresence-sx80-codec/model.html#~tab-documents

Hi VCsupport17,
We did the same integration about year ago, but my recommendation is still to use Touch 10 for video controls because;
1. Crestron control is limited to 3 remote calls, and it cannot control 4th call if you are using fully multisite capacity of SX80.
2. It took lot of time and effort to program the same functionality on Crestron, looks like duplicating the effort.
Thanks, Nick.
