For the Codian products (i.e. MCU):

http://www.tandberg.com/support/video-conferencing-knowledge-base/faq-products/codian-mse-8000-chassis-7/resetting-password-cisco-acquired-tandberg-codian-conferencing-product-restoring-unit-its-factory-settings-13.jsp?search=

On a C20, you would need the procedures here:

http://www.tandberg.com/support/video-conferencing-knowledge-base/faq-entries/reset-cisco-telepresence-system-codec-c20-factory-settings-535.jsp

* Not sure about C40/C60. The only reset I see requires a root logon.

On a VCS: Not sure. I vaguely recall that you may have to swap it out but I would call Tac.

TMS: TMS actually uses the local windows accounts on the box it is installed. If you can access the OS then you can probably access TMS. The approach here would depend on whether your TMS is in a domain or if it were deployed as a standalone system. If in a domain, then there are likely AD permissions groups that can be used to grant access. If standalone, then you are dealing with local groups. The approach here would depend on what OS (2003 or 2008) you are running on. Then you will need to attack this from the OS perspective.  At least, this is my understanding.

For the VCS, follow the procedures on p208 of the admin guide:

http://www.tandberg.com/support/dl.php?id=1371&dir=User_Manuals&fn=Cisco_VCS_Administrator_Guide_X6-1.pdf

You'll need to connect to the VCS using a serial cable and log in with the special 'pwrec' account.

For C40 or any C-series codec,

  1. Connect a serial cable to the system at 38400, 8, N, 1
  2. Reboot the system
  3. Log in with the user "PWREC". This user is only available a short period of time after reboot. Logging in with this user will reset the password of the root user.

The above steps will set the password to the system default password

HI Tang,

I have similar problem. I hope you can find me a soluttion.

I got Cisco telepresence C90 with TC7.2.1

Admin password is lost. We can not get in webinterface. I dont know how to access and reset . Please let me know .. Thanks

Take a look at this thread, password-recovery.  Because you're running TC7 software, you'll have to perform a factory reset of the codec.

I follow this procedure and i select yes for factory reset but the password doesn't change

Which is the default password for admin? blank doesn't work...

Thanks

The default password could be either:

  • blank, ie: no password.
  • TANDBERG
