Telepresence - Using Remote and Touchpad

Hello,

Is it possible to use a telepresence remote along while the TouchPad is also hooked up? 

We have four units (SX-20) in our office and none of them respond to the  remote. 
We've tried rebooting the unit, and getting a good sight of view to the camera and still no response. 
Or does the remote just not work when the TouchPad is connected?

The remote does not work when the Touch 8 or Touch 10 is connected.
