Touch 10 and 802.1X

Hi guys,

I am wondering if it is possible to set up dot1x on a TelePresence Touch 10.

We linked it by IP with our SX20 using software version TC7.3.4.e4daf54.

Hardware version is 102310-1. The SX20 itself works fine with 1X.

I didn't find any documentation about this topic..

Hope someone can help.

Thank you!

The Touch 10 authenticates to the endpoint via the admin account, 802.1X isn't mentioned in the Touch 10 data sheet, so don't think it's supported.

I'd like to piggy-back on this thread, as our organization would also like to see a way to do 802.1x authentication on the Touch 10 when paired with a SX10 or SX20 endpoint.

Video Conferencing since before it was cool or cost effective.

We're now using MAB in combination with VLAN mapping and downloadable ACLs as workaround.

Thank you for your response. We are currently doing something similar.

Hi,

our clients also ask us for similar solution with Network Access Control,

could you please explain what can be done with touch10?

Our touch 10 devices reside in the same vlan as our video endpoints. If host lookup occurs and MAC is in the according identity group a downloable ACL is set on the port of the touch 10 which allows ip traffic within the above mentionend vlan only.

could you please explain me how you deploy MAB with touch 10???

Touch 10 devices do not support 802.1X.  The workaround which we use at Cisco is to use exceptions for the Touch 10s o the network.
