Hi
I have cisco 2801 spservicek9 with cme 8
I configured CME on this router, and I have already add 30 ephone on this cme
I have also connected 30 IP phone on my network and it work fine
Refer to cisco documentation, cisco 2801 router can support only 25 ip phone, in my case I added 30 ip phone successfully : why the router accept more than 25 ephone ?
Is there a particular risk to have 30 IP phone operating on cisco 2801 CME ?
Please advise

Hi Nicanor,
The stated max users on a 2801 is 25 but there is some cushion here from Cisco that will let you
register up to 30 phones. This is common on all the ISR series and does not pose any
risk to run in this manner. It's like the license overdraft that Cisco allows on CUCM.
Cheers!

The problem is when I will upgrade to 15.1(3)T release, the Old Cisco IP phone 7911G installed will be not supported.

Yes it supports 7911 but not 7911G according to their documentation, correct me if I am wrong.

7911 and 7911G are the same. No difference.

The firmware is not the same, the 7911G uses SCCP11.8-2-2SR2S.
Shouls I add it manually to the 15.1.3(T) IOS ?
