BE5k to BE6k Migration/need to export Unity Connection 2.1 to COBRAS

Hi All, we are planning our upgrade Migration. We bought the Cisco BE6k with UCS C220. Since its on two servers I'm doing a parralle upgrade.

I'm running thru the below doc:

However, once it gets to the COBRAS part it says to use 7.x and later. Well the BE5k is running cisco unity connection 2.1

Do I need to upgrade to 7.x before I can use COBRAS to export then import into the new CUC  9.1?

If so how do you just upgrade the Cisco Unity Connection part of the BE5k (CUCMBE)? Every update I've done on this system updates both the CUCM and CUC side.

Yes, you must upgrade to at least 7.x for COBRAS export to work and no you can't upgrade only CXN. The applications share a database in the BE5k as well as a single instance of RHEL (they use Redhat Kernel Virutalization). If you do this, be mindful of phone firmware. For one thing, phones must install 8.5(2) before they can upgrade beyond it.
