CCME IP Phone Licences issue

Hi:

I need to install a gateway CCME (we have the licence CCME for the gateway 2900), but for time deadlines I don´t have the licences for the Phones. We order it but the licences arrive to the country 4 weeks ahead and the installation must be the nex week. My question is:

Is possible install the gateways CCME and the phones, if I don´t have the CCME phone licences???

Obviously when the licences arrive we regularize licences in the CCME.

Thanks,

Fco. Arias Reyes

Hi Arias,

Yes, you would be good to go here.

Even with the newest ISR-G2 CME licensing scheme, Phone Licenses are Paper based RTU licenses (Right to Use).

Right  to Use Feature licenses are not enforced. The "legal" expectation is  that a license will be purchased for each  phone but this is still strictly "honor" based

Here is a clip that speaks to this question;

Prerequisites for Configuring Cisco Unified CME

Base Cisco Unified CME feature license and phone user licenses that entitle you to use Cisco Unified CME are **purchased.

From this CME doc;

As often asked and as you would have found searching before asking:

Cisco CME does not enforce phone licenses. These are just paper.
