Most of our extensions are 200's, but one user was setup by my predecessor with an extension in the 300's. This was done because he wanted to not allow incoming direct dialed external calls. Now, this user needs to be able to receive incoming direct dialed external calls. My assumption is that I have to change his DN from a 300 series to a 200 series. Is this as easy as it sounds? Forgive me, but I'm a newb with zero training. Thank you!

Hi there,
Yes, it's really pretty straight forward.
Device> Phone> DN page> change to 2xx> save changes
Cheers!

Then as Rob said, it's a quick and easy process.
Just make sure the DN you're assigning is a DID number that belongs to your company and it's available in your DID range.
Might want to compare the settings from the DN you're changing with the rest of the 2XX numbers you have to make sure they match, you might be missing some stuff if this was an internal only DN.

You need to start by mentioning what call control system (CUCM/CME/UC520) and version you use.
It sounds like you need to configure a DID, do you know if you have free DIDs??
