Client is upgrading there UC manager to 10.6 in a few weeks and have a combination of 7940 and 7942 IP phones. My question is are the 7940 IP Phone still support on the 10.6 version of the code? Thanks! Also can you point me to a document or website that shows they are support on the UC 10.6 code. Thanks!

Hi,
[+5] to Chris/Ven/Brandon
you can refer the link which talks about 7900 series support on CUCM10.5
http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/vtgsca/VTGServlet
But as mentioned by friends, it is very much supported. I have CUCM 10.5.1.10000-7 and shows 7940 in phone list while adding/working.

I'm running some 7940s on my 10.5(2) as we speak and the link Ven gave, while for CUCM 9, is still valid. At worst, you could run a third party SIP load if it wasn't.

They are officially not supported any more as of version 9, but they work just fine, I have one customer on 10.5 with over 5000 of them working without issues.

Unable to locate 10.6, but according to 10.5.2 documentation

10.6 is 10.5(2)

Oh, I did not know that.
Is there documentation that states 10.5(2) is 10.6?
That is just a little confusing. :)

You can take our word for it, CUCM 10.5.2 = 10.6, Cisco decided to create the confusion, and it does not help that they were inconsistent where UCCX 10.6 is 10.6 for example. I know it makes no sense, but it is what it is.

Will do.
Thanks for the info!

When I was at Geekfest this year I learned this little fact. Drove me nuts to know this was done in this manner.
