Cisco Prime Collaboration connection SFTP

Hi everyone

I've been trying to connect to Cisco Prime Collaboation Assurance 10.6 with Filezilla through SFTP protocol but I could not connect.

Do you know if I have to make some different to achieve the connection on CPC Server?

Attach the image with the error.

Thank you

Hi Arthur,

The attached snasphot shows that you are trying to use ftp protocol while the response message from sftp server requires SSH.Can u change to SSH and check?

Further.I can see few bugs related to backup/restore

PCA restore fails when backup is done over ftp.
CSCum87638

PCA Backup requires SSH access for SFTP causing failures
CSCum88682
Symptom:
When trying to generate a backup from Prime Collaboration Assurance and store it to a secure SFTP server which is blocking SSH, the backup job will fail

Conditions:
Attempt to use a secure SFTP server blocking SSH.

Workaround:
Fix is available in Service Pack 1

Hi Aman

Thank you for you answer.

I tried using this address sftp://XX.XX.XX.XX, but now I have another error:

Status: Connecting to XX.XX.XX.XX:26...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=2
Command: open "root@XX.XX.XX.XX" 26
Command: Pass: ***********
Error: Authentication failed.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

However, user and password are correct, I tried to login with the same credentials through CLI and I didn't have any problem.

It could be a root user problem?

Regards.
Arthur

Hi Arthur,

Suggest opening TAC case since u are able to login from CLI through SSH which uses TCP port 26 with same credentials ?

Are u trying to take backup?

regds,

aman

Hi Aman

I followed the next steps and now it's working

  1. Login as root, enter the following below, more than likely you are in root patch mode.
  2. Input: passwd (this will ask to change the passwd but you can use the same one that you already have)
  3. Cd /opt/emms/emsam/bin/
  4. ./enableRoot.sh (this will restart the ssh process)
  5. After this you should be able to login into winscp or filezilla.

Regards

Arthur

Is this documented in Cisco?

regds,

Yes it is, the TAC helped me
