Simple question here to anyone using PCP.
We looked at PCP a while back and determined that it would be great for a green field deployment but that it was too much work to get it up and running into an existing voice cluster. Has this changed? We were hoping that maybe it would now come with a way to scan the existing cluster and build all of the templates that currently exist rather than attempting to recreate all of them by hand.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Once PCP has done a subscriber sync and the domain syncs the user services will be available in the User Records. If you want to make a template from an existing service, go to a users User Record, hover next to the service i icon and pick Create Template. For example if you like bsmith's 8861 phone settings, hover next to the phone and create a template. The template will appear in the Provisioning Setup UI and you can then modify it with keywords for things like line appearances or device names. You can also then put in speed dials or automatic URI creation keywords. Then assign where you want the template to appear as a choice or if you want to use it for Quick or Automatic service provisioning.
When adding PCP into an existing network, many customers take this opportunity to normalize user settings going forward, for consistency of operation or just to allow easy maintenance/troubleshooting. In this case a set of thought out templates are created in a spreadsheet in PCP batch format then imported.
Scanning a cluster for automatic template creation, especially for a cluster that has been in use for years, could easily create 10K to 50K of unique templates you would then need to cull through to make sense of. In most manually configured clusters with many different admins, over many years, custom settings can really add up.
