Hi Everyone,
Can we host the Cisco IOS SRST function on Dell VM? We have dell hypervisor machine running VM. Any suggestion to run the SRST over virtual machine?

Here is the list of platforms that support SRST and the required firmware version. If configured correctly, your scenarios should function as expected.

As SRST is a function in IOS that runs on a Cisco router I would say no you can’t do what you ask about.

There is a reference to SRST in the 8000V config guide, so perhaps that way. It would only support call control since that obviously wouldn't have an physical voice interfaces. I have never tried to do this.

Hi, Thanks for the solution. To make calls outside from SRST, can we use FXO gateway in the environment?

I would expect so. It would be important that the FXO gateway is reachable in the case where SRST is active.

If you have a router with FXO port(s) why do you not want to use that for SRST?

Thanks. This case is only when we have fxo gateway is not from cisco.
