CUBE : setting options ping keep alives on Dial peer

hi,

This is a new deployment for CUBE. We have been facing issues with outbound calls not going through, our ITSP states that  from their end they see the Trunk is down and this may be due to the fact that we are not sending sip options keep alives towards them and hence they assume the Trunk is down and the calls fail.

I want to confirm that we send sip options keep alives towards them and hence configured the "voice-class sip options-keepalive up-interval 30" command on the Outbound Dial peer. After running the debug ccsip messages on the CUBE i still do not see any sip options  keep alive messages being sent from our end. There is no firewall in between.

Is there any other config that needs to be done to enable the keep alives to be sent

Can you please share the configuration for the outbound dial peer so that we can verify it?

As @Roger Kallberg suggested, please post the config.
And which Transport protocoll are you using? UDP or TCP? You have to ask the provider, which protocoll they support. You cannot just use one.

E.g. If you have TCP and the provider only supports UDP, then there will never be a successfull TCP session and therefore, you will never see a SIP message in your debug.

But you can try both and see, which is working.

Hi Roger

dial-peer voice 1001 voip
description *** Outgoing calls to ITSP***
translation-profile outgoing Main_Number
max-conn 90
destination-pattern +T
session protocol sipv2
session server-group 4
voice-class codec 1
voice-class sip options-keepalive up-interval 30
voice-class sip bind control source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0/2
voice-class sip bind media source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0/2
dtmf-relay rtp-nte
no vad

Single server:

voice-class sip options-keepalive

Multiple servers:

voice-class sip options-keepalive profile <tag>

Use option-keepalive profile as you are using service group.

With a server group you need to use a slightly different setup for SIP option ping. Try with this.

voice class sip-options-keepalive 1
description Used for Server Group SIP OPTIONS PING
!
dial-peer voice 1001 voip
 no voice-class sip options-keepalive up-interval 30
 voice-class sip options-keepalive profile 1
