CUCM 11.5.1.15900-18
VMware ESXi, 6.0.0, 3073146
Due to CPU spikes, we would like to move from the original OVA of 2500 users to 10K users. We have a maintenance window and I want to verify this is the correct procedure:
Gracefully turn off the CUCM Publisher Virtual Machine
Access the CUCM server using CLI --> utils system shutdown and enter yes
Access the vSphere client, Select the VM and Edit the settings.
Select the Hardware and update the CPUs, in this case 4 vCPUs.
Power on the virtual machine.
Access the CUCM Server using CLI --> show hardware to see the 4 vCPUs.
Repeat on the remaining subscribers

That's just 1/3 of what you need to to, you need to match vCPU, vRAM and vDisk to what is shown here for each OVA capacity:
And to make sure that your HW is supported for the 10K specs that are required.

So if i can update the vcpu to 4 and vram to 8 and the vdisk to 110gb that is all i need to do?

Yes, assuming you're running on HW that supports the 10K OVA.

Hi Jaime,
I have the same case, the only change ils that m'y architecture are on v12.5, ans im switching to a méga cluster for 60000 users.
Actually, WE have an architecture with 6 serveurs, (pub + 2 tftp + 3 subscriber) and WE will switch to 14 serveurs as Cisco sizing tools ( fyi tha design IS validated by Cisco also).
My question, i want to know if i Can upgrade hardware capacité from (2500 users) to (10000 uers with 4vcpu+ 3vram + 110 vdisk) directory from vsphere, without insatllaing New ova 10k users + backup restor from thé old VM toi New one.
Beat regards
