Hi dears,
Could someone help me with CUCM license upgrading. So I've installed CUCM 12.0 version, but licenses were bought for 11.X version. How to upgrade them to 12.0 smart licenses ?
Please note I haven't upgrade the CUCM from 11 to 12 , but just installed 12 and my licenses with 11.x version are in unused state now.
Thanks,
Ilyas.

Both. You'll need GLO to move the licenses over to the Smart Account but they will want the PUT order first.

Licenses are for a single major release. You need UCSS or SWSS contract coverage to trade them up to a higher major version. An active Flex subscription would also entitle you to this.
If you have one of those things you can submit a Product Upgrade Tool order to transact the upgrade in Cisco’s tools. Unique to the 12.0 release is the transition to the Smart Licensing account; for that you can open a case with Global Licensing Operations to move your current PLM instance over.

Dear Jonathan,
Thank you for reply.
Could you please clarify ? I've licenses for 11.x version (unused) for the same project but installed CUCM 12.0 version. So is it enough to upgrade them via PUT or i will need to open TAC case?
Also please note, we have service contract for upgrade the particular licenses and smart account for this customer.
Regards,
Ilyas
