Hi All,
We currently have a requirement to upgrade CUCM ver8.5 CUPS ver8.6 CUBACver8.6 and Unity connection to the latest version I have read most of the documentations available and I have a concern about the migration. The mentioned cisco applications are currently running on a UCS210 server on vmware version 4.0 and this is where our problem is. The new VMware server that will be used to host the UC applications is currently on VMWare 5.5 and as per this linkbelow our current version CUCM, CUPS and CUBAC will not work on vmware 5.5.
Any suggestions on what our options to achieve this will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
PCD can not be used to migrate CUBAC to CUAC. You can upgrade it on the xisting VM and move it over to new server. The only step is to run the executable file for Attendant Console Advanced 11.0 and during the installation process you are going to be asked if you want to keep the existing database or not; once you see this screen you need to click on yes to keep the existing DB to migrate the old configuration.
OS , SQL and other requirements for CUAC 11.0 are mentioned on page 135 onwards of the following link

Hi,
When you use PCD to migrate the CUCM and CUPS from 8.x to 11.x on new platform , the new versions would be supported on the ESXi 5.5 version

Hi Manish,
Thank you very much for your reply, you have been very helpful. One last concern about the CUBAC upgrade is the vmware version. The current UCS server that houses CUBAC is only on vmware v4.0 and I believe CUAC 11 requires vmware v5.0 and higher which might cause some problems. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

In addition I am also getting conflicting information from both cisco sources about the supported vmware version for the attendant console see the links below.

In a production environment, Cisco Unified Attendant Console Advanced server is supported on
VMware ESXi 4.x, 5.0 or 5.1
http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Virtualization_for_Cisco_Unified_Attendant_Consoles
Supported Versions of VMware vSphere ESXi = 4.1, 5.0, 5.1, 5.5

Hi,
You should go with the docwiki version. Upgrading ESXi to 5.5 is recommended as per the following as it introduced some new things
