CUCM VM 7.1.5 to 9.1.2 migration error.

Hello there,

after successful virtualization of production env. into VM and implementation

of OVA file all went fine with 9.1.2(Rest or Unrest) upgrade until almost 88% of RU upgrade.

Than it failed with error Error detected in post-install phase.

Iv discovered in log of install.log next lines:

component_install|File:/opt/cisco/install/bin/component_install:756, Function: exec_progmeter(), /opt/cisco/install/bin/progmeter failed (1)|<LVL::Error>

post_install|Exiting with result 1|<LVL::Info>
post_install|INSTALL_TYPE="Refresh Upgrade"|<LVL::Debug>
post_install|Process refresh upgrade failure|<LVL::Info>
post_install|(CAPTURE) Mail notification cancelled - smtp server address for email not found! [/usr/local/platform/conf/platformConfig.xml]|<LVL::Debug>
post_install|Retore grub.conf from grub.conf.recovery|<LVL::Info>

 

Any idea?

I was going through bugs even though it is not related to your CUCM but says adding Email destination and SMTP. Bug is for CUCM 8.6

Just try if it helps.

The web GUI does not have email notification fields.
Conditions:
Go to the install page
Workaround:
None. Will be fixing.

I tried fresh upgrade VM 7.1.5 to 9.1.2, no SMTP included and it works.

After restore of database into 7VM .1.5 and upgrade into 9.1.2 with/without SMTP it fails.

 

Any other idea?

No more clues.I have never faced such issue.

 

Please open tac case with cisco for more troubleshooting and please share their findings.

Yep, COP file installed before upgrade. I did v1.3 first  and v1.2 later on for test upon each node, just to be sure.

No idea whats wrong from log output.

Hello Randy, I am facing the same issue as you on a migration from 7.1.5 to 9.1(2).
