Hi,
Has anyone used Oracle as an external database for CUPS 8.5 Compliance Server feature? Work for a financial institution and need to get our CUPS IM archived and stored for several years.
If so, is there a Cisco document or any other document that provides the pre-requisite of the Oracle Database server?

Hi
Postgres is the only supported DB, see this guide : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cups/8_0/english/install_upgrade/database/guide/Preparing_database_setup.html
If you are really keen on using Oracle you should be able to put something together to transfer data from the Postgres DB that CUPS requires into the Oracle DB server you want to use.
Regards
Aaron

Thanks for your reply. I do not understand how Cisco supports 3rd party external DBs for the compliance feature but only support one at the moment. That is why I love Cisco (being sarcastic).

You're preaching to the choir. Two remarks though to be fair:

Good point Jonathan and that is why I opened a SR from this thread. I have to say I am impressed with the quick response from this forum. Much faster then getting a TAC person, seriously.

That's the Darwin's rule. Only smart people (like Jonathan) have extra bandwidth to hang on the forum.
