I am currently looking for one unified communication solution in which, an user can leverage on the existing MS Outlook public Name and Address Book (NAB) to remotely dial a physical VoIP phone.
Say, for example, an user half-way through typing an email, suddenly feels like it is better to verbaly call the person. So, he just need to go to his local or public MS Outlook Name and Address Book, select the person name. By just clicking on the name, this will initiate a remote dialing command onto his physical VoIP phone to the intended person.
If Cisco does not support such solution, is there any third-party component that can possible be integrated to provide such funtionality ?

Hello -
Cisco's IP Softphone can do this - here is the link to the release notes - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps1860/prod_release_note09186a0080146d5c.html#1040593
IP Softphone runs on the PC as a client. I believe the cost is around $150.00 or less.

Ginger

The below could be what you are looking for - a feature of CallManager, rather than Unity. It enables you to right clik on a contact within Outlook and select "Call Contact"...

Outlook 2003 and Call Manager 3.3.3sr3
I had this working under Outlook 2000. It appears that it broke when I upgraded to 2003. Everytime I right click on a contact and select CALL CONTACT, I get the pop-up window with the dialing options. When I click on start call, after a moment I get another pop-up stating ANOTHER PROGRAM IS USING THE SELECTED TELEPHONY DEVICE. Please try again later.
There are NO other TAPI programs running on my PC that I'm aware of.
Any thoughts?

Solved my own problem.
I just stopped and restarted the Cisco CTI manager on all of the call managers. Now the Call Contacts are working again.

You may want to look at the Outlook Dialer application from Netelligent. It provides a simple client setup and integration with Outlook to allow automatic dialing from Outlook.
The following link provides a data sheet on the product, release notes, and you can download a trial version:

Let me know if you have any questions.
