Where did you add the DNS Domain? On OS Administration when enabling DNS, on the CCM Group, or on Enterprise Parameters?

Through cli mode...set network domain name....
we have upgraded cucm from version 10 to 11 few dys back...after upgrade, cucm wepage was showing warning as DNS unreachable...
after adding the domain name warning is not highlighting on publisher but all the phones got restarted 7 times...

First, yes DNS should be enabled on all nodes (plus IM&P) if you enable it on one. Also, phone resets are to be expected so complete the remaining work during a maintenance window.
More importantly, you need to fully understand cluster replication, ITL, and what certificates are in use on your cluster before you proceed further. If you complete tasks out of order you could break the trust chain and would have to touch every phone in the cluster to clear the ITL.

Typically, the CCM Groups are updated as part of this process so the phones are using DNS FQDN for CUCM registration as well. Jabber IM&P nodes should also be FQDN format for similar reasons.
