Planning on upgrading CUCM, CUCX & CIMP v. 9.1.2 to 10.5.2. I've read through Cisco docs and am upgrade seems pretty straight forward except for the ELM to PLM upgrade. I was under the assumption that both CUCM and CUCX would go to grace period mode until ELM upgrade and rehost of licenses (mix of CUWL Pro & Standard).
I found this on the internet:
The minor snag was CUC going unlicensed immediately because it was pointing to ELM on CUCM 9.1 and CUCM didn’t have 10.x licenses installed. So watch out for that. It was rather odd that CUC didn’t give us a 60-day grace period. I moved it to it’s own PLM with appropriate licensing installed there.
Can anyone confirm if CUCX will go in to grace period after upgrade and does anyone have a recommendation on whether to upgrade ELM first or last?

Hi Brad,
I was just referring the link which says
Before starting migration, you need to configure Unity Connection with the ELM server.
this means, unity connection UCXN would go in grace period for 60 days.

I'm talking about Unity Connections and not Contact Center Express. I upgraded my UCCX system recently which took three weeks to get the correct license. Cisco licensing is definitely no fun.
