Inbound calls with NO voice (two way voice issue)

Hi All,

We are having this strange issue where randomly 2 calls out of 10 will have no voice , the call connects but the caller and called number don’t hear anything. If the called number then Holds/Un-Hold then there is voice . Basically when the RTP stream is rebuild we get the voice stream.

Call flow is as following.

 

ITSP--->(SIP)--->CUBE--->(SIP) --->CUCM--->UCCX--->CUCM--->CUAC--->CUCM--->IPHONE

CUCM version is 10.5.X

UCCX version is 10.5.X

CUAC version is 10.5.X

Anyone seen this issue before?

You need to enabled detailed callmanager service traces to compare the signaling in the good and bad calls. Check the SDP part of the INVITE and 200 OK / ACK messages to see which ports, codecs etc are exchanged. If this is okay then it is most likely a network issue , you may check any firewall in the call flow to see if there are any packet drops when the issue is experienced.

What happens if you remove PSTN out of the call flow and just test it with below. This will give a clear indication if the issue is happening with internal calls as well or is it only the external calls causing the issue

CUCM--->UCCX--->CUCM--->CUAC--->CUCM--->IPHONE
