Hello,
We're running CUCM 8.5 and Cisco 7962 phones running SCCP. We have a partition, let's call it Partition1, which contains the directory number 114. We also have a partition, let's call it Parition2, that contains several 4-digit numbers that begin with 114 (1142, 1143, etc.). Whenever someone tries to dial 114, there's an interdigit timeout before it accepts it and dials the number. The problem would appear to be a dial plan overlap, but I can't see how that's possible. The offending numbers are in different partitions, and the calling search space for all the Phone/DN combinations are set such that Partition1 is listed first, then Partition2, and so on. Am I not understanding how the search is performed? It seems that the caller's phone should match on 114 and dial immediately once the 4 is pressed, since that numbers partition is listed first, yet there's always an interdigit timeout. Any help would be appreciated! (Oh, and I've tried toggling the phones on the Device-->Phone page to enable or disable enbloc dialing, with no effect- I'm thinking that only applies when dialing out the gateway anyway, but I could be mistaken).
Thanks!

As Jaime said, this is correct behavior. It looks at all the numbers/patterns in the partitions that are in the CSS applied to the phone/dn when determining a best match. Since both of these numbers are accessible from the CSS, the interdigit timeout will continue to happen when calling 114, as it is matching both 114 and 1143 at that point. There is a setting in later versions of CUCM that allow you to set the directory number as urgent priority (meaning it will send the call as soon as it's matched), but this feature was not available 8.5.

Yes, you dont understand how this works, the behavior youre seeing is CORRECT, CUCM uses BEST MATCH ROUTING, the order of the partitions is ONLY used as a tie breaker when 2 or more equally good patterns are found.
The only way to fix this, is to change your dial plan to avoid overlapping.
