need scheduling server MP8.5 if only using outlook plugin?

With MP8.0 audio-only deployment customer only has Application Server and only using outlook plugin for scheduling.

Needs the outlook 2010 plug in so looking at MP8.5 upgrade.

Do we need to add the scheduling server or can we leave deployment as single server if not trying to access the web scheduling page?

This note in documentation appears to support deployment without scheduling server in audio-only system if only using outlook plugin

Audio deployments do not require an internal Web Server unless you want:

–Web Server scheduling interface

–Cisco Unified MeetingPlace user interface for IBM Lotus Notes integration

–Audio or Audio/video recordings with an optional, customer provided SAN/NAS storage option

Appreciate this information as I had been tyring to find the answer to much the same question as to what you get with an MP 8.5 single box audio only solution. Wonder if you could answer a couple more:

- Is the TUi - CUMP PhoneView available with a single server, or is this relaint on the web scheduling server?

- I have seen reference to Ad Hoc SCCP meetings not being supported with CUCM 8.5 and MP 8.5.2 - if so, what is the exact implication of this?

Yes PhoneView is supported on a single server deployment as it uses the Application Server and not the MP web server.

Ad Hoc is a MP option to provide resources for a CUCM conference call.  So if you are in a point to point video call and want to conference a third party, CUCM pass the call to MP which supports the three way video call.  If you are not using this feature then there is no issues.

You might be able to look at the new PVDM3 bridging feature as a way around it to support voice activated switching or of course go down the MCU path  outside of MP
