Question on latest E-SRST with CUCM 9.X

Hello,

I am a bit confused on the new E-SRST when using CUCM 9.X

I understand you load the new SRST Manager on a server but I am unsure on what is required at the remote site router other than running CME failover. Is a module such as an SRE required on the remote site router to run E-SRST?

thanks

Bill

So do you need a special license on the remote router other than the SRST/CME Failover license that comes in the qty of 25 users?

No. The router requires sufficient SRST/CME licenses and SRST Manage requires a site license

So does Unity connection then work directly with the SRSV module at the remote site for the failover?

Yes. Note that CXN will report to ELM that the license requirements are Enhanced mailboxes. This is included in a CUWL seat but UCL customers may need to uplift mailbox licenses.

Do you need a UMG for any reason anymore for phone or VM failover anymore?

No though CXN-based SRSV has some significant feature limitations in it's initial release (e.g. no MWI during failover). Be sure you understand them before spending money.

No module is required for E-SRST to work at the remote sites. The SRST Manager simply issues commands to the router after reading the configuration from CUCM.

An SRE-910 (or better) module is required if you want to use SRSV for voicemail failover. This was introduced in Unity Connection 9.1.
