This is a 2 part question:
Do you need to run permissions wizrd on the server you moved a mailbox to?
Do you need to run permissions wizard on every new Exchange server?

Hi -
Are you running voice messaging only (with Exchange onbox) OR voice or unified messaging with offbox Exchange? You run the permissions wizard on the Unity server, not on the Exchange server. Everytime you add either a new information store to an existing Exchange server (from which you previously ran permissions wizard) or add a new Exchange server which will host Unity subscribers, you need to rerun the permissions wizard in order to give the necessary permissions to the unitymsgstoresvc account.

Ginger

Hi Ginger,
We are running Unified Messaging. Unity is running on a seperate server. We are running Exchange 2000/2003. We have an Exch 2003 partner server because of the mixed Exch enviroment. I would guess from your answer if Unity subscribers will be hosted on a newely built Exch box, you will need to run permissions wizard on Unity again. However just to clarify if you move users from one store to another you need to run permissions wizard everytime?

Hi -
As long as the permissions wizard has been run once for each information store you have, you do not need to rerun it when you move the mailbox of a user from one information store to another. Unity will register the change the next time the user logs in.
Sincerely,
Ginger
