Hello, I'm giving support to a customer that have a Cisco voice router 3825 running IOS version Version 12.4(7b)

They are trying to configure some sip commands and they seem to be not availabl in the router:

For example: 'ip address trusted list' and 'address hidging' under 'voice service voip':

ARMDZSM173RT254(config)#voice service voip
ARMDZSM173RT254(conf-voi-serv)#?
VOICE SERVICE configuration commands:
allow-connections Allow call connection types
cause-code Sets the internal cause code for SIP and H323
default Set a command to its defaults
exit Exit from voice service configuration mode
fax Global fax commands
h323 Global H.323 configuration commands
media Global media setting for voip calls
modem Global modem commands
no Negate a command or set its defaults
redirect voip call redirect
shutdown Stop VoIP services gracefully without dropping active calls
signaling Global setting for signaling payload handling
sip SIP configuration commands
supplementary-service Config supplementary service features

The options under supmenue 'sip' are also too limited:

ARMDZSM173RT254(conf-voi-serv)#sip
ARMDZSM173RT254(conf-serv-sip)#?
VOICE SERVICE VOIP SIP configuration commands:
bind SIP bind command
call Global setting to start/stop processing SIP Calls
default Set a command to its defaults
ds0-num Enables adding DS0 channel information to outgoing SIP requests
exit Exit from voice service voip sip configuration mode
header-passing SIP Headers need to be passed to Applications
min-se Min value allowed for SIP Session Timer refresh interval
no Negate a command or set its defaults
redirect SIP redirect commands
registrar SIP Registrar config
rel1xx Type of reliable provisional response support
session SIP Voice Protocol session config
subscription SIP subscription config
transport Configure transport related parameters
url url type in request line of outgoing INVITE

'voice class sip-profiles' doesn't exist:

ARMDZSM173RT254(config)#voice class ?
aaa AAA Parameters
busyout Set global voiceport busyout monitoring
cause-code Cause code list parameters
codec Set codec global parameters
custom-cptone configuration of customized Call Progress Tones
dualtone-detect-params dualtone detection parameters
h323 H323 Parameters
media Media settings for voip calls
permanent Permanent connection (call)
uri Voice URI class configuration commands

Among other things...

I first thought of missing licenses but even the 'show license' command doesn't exist:

ARMDZSM173RT254#show license ?
% Unrecognized command

Any idea what could be happening to this router?

I can upload a show tech for more info.

Thank you.

The 38XX series has reached end-of-life (EOL) quite some time ago.

Make sure the image you are running supports voice and security commands. If I remember correctly, the 28XX and 28XX series used IOS images specific to the features. Unlike the 29XX and 39XX series, which use a universal IOS, activating features using commands.

Thanks, Nithin. I guess this would be the case.
