I am building a new Cisco collaboration lab environment for CUCM 12.5 / and supporting collaboration applications. I am looking for recommendations for a modern Cisco router platform and IOS to configure CUBE, DSP's, Call Manager Express and connect to an ITSP. This is a lab environment for learning, testing and developing compatible applications. I am getting confused if I should go in the direction for ISR 4000 or 1000 series router and which OS/ licensing is required.
Thanks,
Kyle

Hi,
All router models belonging to Cisco 1100 ISR supports CUBE functionality in Cisco IOS XE Gibraltar 16.12.1a onwards. You can find router part numbers in this URL:
You need to order CUBE licenses separately using L-CUBE Part number.
For 4321, you can use ISR4321-VSEC/K9.
Please note that many features such as DSP, Transcoding, High Availability etc. are not supported by ISR 1000 Series. You can check below URL for more details:
I would recommend to go with Cisco 4000 series (except 4221) as it supports all voice related features.

Thank you Nithin. Can you point me in the direction on where to find the part numbers for for VSEC/ K9 and licensing for ISR 1000 / 4331 routers? I've been looking on Cisco Website, but haven't had much definitive luck.
Thanks again,
Kyle

As @Vaijanath Sonvane mentioned go for ISR 4k.If you are planning for BOX-to-BOX redundancy you need to go with 4331. Isr 4321 has only two network port so box to box redundancy won't be possible.
