Didn't see this in the documentation, but is there any mechanism to support the sending of broadcast messages when Unity is in UMR mode? Have a customer that would like to send an "all server subscribers" message to let people know when there is an Exchange failure and Unity is degraded, and when they can expect it to be back up.

No, not at the time.

Unity does not currently support any broadcast messaging.
Unity 4.0(5) is getting a new feature to send broadcast messages to a Unity server. You will be able to send and listen to broadcast messages while Unity is in the UMR mode.
Unity 4.0(5) is being targetted to release on CCO in January of 2005.

Hi -
You might consider one of the IP telephony application vendors that have developed notification applications to Cisco's IP phones. One such vendor that we are interested in is Berbee's InformaCast. We see it as being a way to send messages such as virus alerts, evacuation alerts, etc. to our customers. Here is a link to their site - http://phone-xml.berbee.com/InformaCast_Main.html
Regards,
Ginger
P.S. That notification enhancement in Unity 4.0(5) sounds cool too!!
