I would suggest to Read all avialbe documents than just a single document.

There is no one document to read for this, there is no Rosetta Stone so to say. You’ll have to do the hard work as anyone else and read and learn by doing. Sorry to put you off.
One suggestion though, you could put your output from gateway debugs or CM traces into TranslatorX. This would give you a nice representation of the SIP dialogues.
