Current setup, unity 4.04 sr1 with exchange 2k off box as message store. Currently running win2k AD. We will be upgrading AD to 2003. What if any are unity/exchange etc considerations that need to be made/followed. Is there a doc?

Hi -
1. If you are planning to upgrade your Exchange infrastructure to Exchange 2003 SP1, then you will need to upgrade System Manager on the Unity server to same. After you do the Exchange 2003 SP1 apply, you need to run the latest/greatest version of Permissions Wizard.
2. Don't apply Windows 2003 SP1 on your AD/Exchange servers until you upgrade to Unity 4.0(5).
Best wishes! Ginger

#1 - future plans are for exchange 2003, but not right now....
#2 - Since we now know that #1 is way off in the future, are you saying we can't update just active directory to 2003 until we upgrade to unity 4.0(5). Why would that be?
Thanks for any reasons, documentation etc.

Hi -
For #2 - Unity 4.0(4) DOES support AD upgraded to Win2K3. Just not Win2K3 SP1 on Exchange 2003 servers. I would confirm with TAC on support for Win2K3 SP1 on AD DC and GC servers. We had a customer that applied Windows 2003 SP1 on an Exchange 2003 server and their subscribers could not get access to voice messages. The symptom is that Unity does not recognize the Exchange server is online and posts errors to the app log. They backed off the SP1 and waited until we upgraded Unity to 4.0(5) this past weekend.

Hi,
Have they applied Win2k3 SP1 yet? I had this problem and upgraded to 4.0(5) and still have the same problem where Unity believes the store to be off-line.
