Hi

I am currently planning an upgrade from CM 4.13 to version 8

2 Servers

250 phones

500 users

all user use Extension mobility

questions I have

1) if I order the upgrade (3&3) do I order this for the 250 phones or 500 users? -the 500 users hotdesk

2) because I am upgrading from version 4 if I order version 8 will version 7 discs be included so I can DMA to 7 then upgrade to 8?

Thanks

This is how I understand it

1) Enhanced users include Ex Mo. This post explains a scenario similar to yours and I don't see why it should matter if it is new or migration

2) Yes intermediate software is included. Since UCSS is mandatory for 3x3 all the intermediate software will be provided

Thanks

thanks for the info

so just to clairfy the customer will have to pay for the additional 250 users- that will please them

also if the customer wants to add an CIPC the either

order adanved lic + adjunct + client Lic  (if second phone)

or

order Advanced lic + Client Lic (if primary phone)

correct?

Let me correct myself. Based on this post you would need 250 enhanced users but the remaining would only application/essential license.

It is enhanced user so you replace advanced with enhanced. Also keep in mind what you have below is the licensing piece. You still also need to buy the actual IPC software and it's associated ESW/UCSS. Always remember there are two components, the licensing itself and then actual client software. Licensing provides the rights for the software to connect to the server but you still need to buy the actual software on top of it. Quite similar to CAL and client license concept with MSFT....

could I not order 250 public lic and 250 essential?

That's right...since the first 250 enhanced users will have ExMo covered so you only need to cover the remaining with application/essential license

Srini

no I mean if this was a new system with 250 phone and 250 users could I order

250 X public lic so users can log into phone

and

250 X essential lic to create Extension mob profile

what do I not get doing it this way

It depends on whether the phone is a public space or a dedicated user phone. Depending on that you can use public space versus enhanced. See this discussion on guidance in this area
